Shared Parenting Scotland has published its 2024 Impact Report ahead of its 202425 Annual General Meeting tonight [2nd April, 2025]
The charity reports 5000+ engagements through its daily helpline and monthly group meetings across Scotland.
The aim of capacity building among parents and grandparents who get in touch is supported by publication of a new edition of ‘Representing Yourself in a Scottish Family Courts’ and ‘Just a Quick Question …”, a guide to better communication between the legal professions and clients.
Shared Parenting Scotland has also raised with government and judiciary issues about availability of solicitors for clients eligible for legal aid, and continuing problems with the expectations of ‘judicial continuity’.
Kevin Kane, Chief Executive of Shared Parenting Scotland, says: “Our work aligns with Scottish Government priorities in tackling poverty, reducing social isolation, preventing suicide, improving justice access, and legal reform. We continue to promote non-adversarial solutions, reducing stress for parents and protecting children’s rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)”
